Meet Joshua Lambert

Name: Joshua Lambert
Position: Research Coordinator
Department: Department of Statistics

HOWDY! My name is Josh Lambert and I was raised in Grant County Kentucky (Home of the Braves!) , which is about 45 minutes north of Lexington. I played for the high school soccer team there and still go back to play in our high school's annual varsity soccer game. After high school, I attended Murray State University where I received a Bachelors and Masters degree in Mathematics.  During college, I was very involved with a campus ministry called Christ Ambassadors. In Christ Ambassadors, I went on eight missions trips, and I am hoping I will get to go on another trip soon. Also during college, I met and married my college sweetheart Rebekah. We have been happily married for 4 years.  After college I taught as a lecturer of Mathematics and Statistics at both Murray State University and Eastern Kentucky University. I went back to school to pursue my PhD in Statistics at UK in the Fall of 2012. In the Fall of 2014 Rebekah and I found out that we were going to be parents which led me to go part time in my studies and seek full time employment. In January, I started my current job as Research Coordinator for the Department of Statistics where I assist students, staff and faculty across the campus with their statistical needs. In May 2015 Rebekah and I were blessed with a beautiful, and healthy baby girl.

5.  Have you had a brush with fame?

I met Kelenna Azubuike in a Las Vegas bathroom once. He didn't seem too keen on talking very long. I think he was disturbed by my C-A-T-S chant while washing my hands. :)
