The ROTC programs and UK Athletics partnered to recognize service men and women and veterans. The Army and Air Force Cadets had the privilege of running onto the field with the UK Football team before the game. They also unfurled a field-sized American flag on the football field. The US Army Parachute team, the Golden Knights jumped into Commonwealth Stadium with the American flag and the Air Force flew four planes over the stadium just prior to kick-off. It was a touching event for those in attendance, especially for our service men and women and their families. UK beat Charlestown Southern University 49 to 21 to secure a perfect ending to the event.
