The Greenhouse living learning community got to a chance to learn about the historic Town Branch, the historic creek which runs through the center of Lexington. Although mostly unseen, this creek is an important aspect of the growing Lexington commuity, playing host to a number of growing business.

This trip gave students the opportunity to tour the facilities of the Town Branch Distillery which lies along its banks. Students got to see firsthand how many products were made and even got a chance to meet the master brewer. 

Students also toured other parts of the creek starting from the McConell Springs area and ending at its underground passage through downtown Lexington at Phoenix Park, while also enjoying a guided history lesson on the creek from a local city historian.
